Now — Dan Lerman

Last Updated: Dec 8th of 2025.

On this page are the things I’m focused on right now.

Teaching at Columbia

I’m teaching at Columbia University and running the Professional Tutoring Program, the first university-level program for tutors.

It’s exciting to see tutoring finally treated as something more than a side hustle.

Professionalizing Tutoring

I’m continuing to grow the League of Exceptional Tutors, a community of educators who want higher standards, better training, and less of the insular “figure it out yourself” mindset that tutoring has tolerated for decades.

Making Stuff Online

I’m creating videos for Scalar Learning (110K subscribers) and adding lessons to my SAT Skool community.

My goal is to make learning less mysterious and more doable.

DILFs of Larchmont

Yes, the DILFs of Larchmont continue. Conan O’Brien mentioned us, which is now officially part of my résumé.

We meet, we laugh, we eat tacos. It’s an aggressively normal dad group with great branding.

I wrote more about that story on this blog here.

Comedy

I host the Backyard Comedy Series, my ongoing attempt to reduce loneliness through jokes told behind my house. It works better than you’d expect.

Read more about our last comedy crawl here. Or you can read more about when I had 300 people come together for a comedy show.

Life With Two Kids

My wife and I just welcomed baby #2. Life is louder and funnier.

What’s Next

More teaching. More writing. More parenting. Updates will arrive sporadically, depending on how cooperative the newborn is.

The End.
